Initiative Overview

The County’s Beautification effort is a responsibility shared by residents, visitors, and businesses. Everyone has a duty to pitch in and reduce the amount of litter in the County and adopt behaviors that will lead to a zero-waste future—in line with the State of Maryland’s goal of 85% waste diversion by year 2040.

The County seeks to instill a sense of pride in all residents by developing a countywide anti-littering campaign as part of the overall Beautification Initiative. The campaign supports enforcement, infrastructure, and policy changes and closely align with the County Executive’s “Prince George’s Proud” message. The Initiative promotes pride throughout the County and encourage residents, visitors, and businesses to protect and preserve the environment.
