WHY COMPOST?

Help protect our environment and keep valuable materials out of our landfill!

We are expanding our free curbside composting program for our eligible residents who use curbside County-collected trash and recycling pickup. On Mondays starting in fall 2022, you’ll get one wheeled green cart and kitchen pail for composting food scraps and yard trim, and a welcome kit.

Composting is as easy as 1-2-3:

Our Organics Composting Facility is one of the largest composting facilities on the East Coast. The facility produces a nutrient-rich amendment product called Leafgro GOLD® that is great for flower gardens, vegetable gardens, perennials, bulbs, trees, and shrubs. The sale of Leafgro GOLD® supports the operational costs of the facility!
